Years ago I was listening to an interview on NPR and the interviewer asked the question of a rabbi "why are the Jewish people so intense about education?" The response came back without even a breath taken: "Because an education is an asset that cannot be confiscated." That response left an indelible mark on my heart - both historically and philosophically.
When I think of teachers, I think of my wife, of course, as she has been a teacher in Clermont and Montverde for 17 years. I think of the teachers who taught my sons and how they actually helped me and Gina raise our sons. I think of the teachers who are in our schools today doing the work of hugging children, teaching children to read, reminding children they are special and capable, encouraging teenagers to make good choices, and keeping watch over the idea that an education is an asset that one can never lose.
At Hancock Real Estate, we are proud to serve teachers and help them accomplish their goals. Last year, one third of our business came from teachers alone. We remain committed to teachers and love them for their invaluable work.
